my nook lasts 10days. i can read my nook in any lighting without glare on the screen, iPad gets glare/outshined anytime you enter a setting with high lighting/idea for reading. My nook was 150bucks and i can get hundreds of free reads and make books for it, ipads 500$ requires apps and 1st party data. 3g coverage in the Nook is free, iPad 3g is monthly. Your Call.
