it wasnt an octave pedal, it was a pitch shifter he was using for the intro along with a Phase effect to...
In the early days, Page would play the second part of the intro right up at the 12th fret, but on here he just uses his pitch shifter so he can play the riff in the same position but it just raises the pitch up to make it sound like it is being played at the 12th fret...
