What us gaijin would call a "penis festival" or "fertility festival", the later being wrong as that is referring to the Hōnen Matsuri (豊年祭). nonetheless, the Kanamara Matsuri is another Japanese tradition that gaijin hear about and go to on a tour so that they may gawk and take pictures of radish carved into dicks, giant penis statues, and the shrine people for taking it so seriously. Love being a gaijin. It was fun.
