This is one of many arias I love from Ezio Pinza, IMO the greatest basso cantante of the 20th century. Wonderful sound quality. Thanks for posting this. I have several LPs of his and they are all great.

Beautifully sung, wonderful clarity - as one expects with Pinza - ...but where's the humour? Contrast this performance with Robert Lloyd's, for example. Musically it may be superior, but artistically - for this aria - Pinza is a disappointment.
