I love rock drummers, but Tyshawn is light years beyond most young drummers. What an amazing percussionist. Listen to his stuff on Travail, Transformation and Flow, and steve Coleman's Five Elements. Awesome!
KILLING!!! The interplay between everyone was bananas! Truly a modern interpretation of what was happening in New Orleans one hundred years ago. I would love to see the music on paper to get a better understanding of how this type of music is "structured", i.e., how much is melody, written down, and how much is group improv. Vijay, hook me up!!! LOL!
well, your "sarcasm" is greatly appreciated. just so you know, all the solos are through composed anyway...so, yeah. actually, there is a jamey aebersold version of this tune if you're interested, lol. apologies.
