Four swimmers who entered the Great North Swim at Windermere (which was cancelled owing to blue-green algae), swam a mile for charity regardless at a local Loch - Loch Ken - in Dumfries and Galloway.
All four swimmers successfully completed the challenge and raised over £1000 for the Kippford RNLI Lifeboats.
