- Took the Trex out for it's 2nd flight, after repairs from the first flight first crash. On this flight, I flew inverted and cut a couple pieces of grass, just a few.
- The cyclic response is insane! It does inverts in less than half a second, check it out! I have the HS65HBs set up so they push the swash plate almost to full extents, so I guess that's why, should tone that back a notch. The same problem I'm having with the left/right cyclic on the Raptor is happening on the Trex, the left and right doesn't seem perfectly left and right, it's a little off, if forward, right, backwards, left were 0, 90, 180, 270 degrees. Left seems to be 250 deg, and right seems to be 70 deg. You can see it in the video, I go left right a bunch, then forward backwards, forward/backwards seems fine, left right looks diagonal.
- The gyro is still the G007, and HS65MG on the tail servo, when I give collective you notice the tail move, the new GY401 and 9254 should solve this problem.
- I took it easy on the 2nd battery pack so I wouldn't end up pushing it and causing another first flight. Restraint is the key.

Anyone seen my keys?

  • hi david thank you for your help, is very useful.

But, I think I know what my problem and would like to know your opinion!

In my spektrum tx dx6i in swashmix, I reduced the pitch to 65% and getting to -11 and +12.

I previously had the option swashmix tx and got about 90% and -14 and +14 or maybe -15 and +15.

I think my problem is that. Today it has yet to experience because it is much windy.

What do you think? Could it be?

    Regards.

  • @cfreire31

Oh, did you mean that your Heli goes diagonal instead of perpendicularly to the tail for left and right?

I thought you meant the tail turned while giving a lot of collective.

I never figured out how to stop the diagonal cyclic, I think it's because everything was plastic and it would flex too much when the flybar assembly pushed against it.

Do you have the 450X with orignal plastic head?

I would purchase a 450 pro, copterx or align, that's how I solved it.

    Cheers!

  • @DavidSunshine867 Hi david, my heli is metal head, Today I change in tx swasplate pitch for less 65% and dont work :(

You says " I thought you meant the tail turned while giving a lot of collective." Yes friend it is my problem in the heli.

How I fix? Is in tail shaft?

  • @cfreire31

Oh ok! Yes, the tail will move right when you give a lot of positive, 14 deg of pitch is a lot, so you need a good tail for this.

Grind the tail shaft so that the tail hub can be placed further out, that'll give you more pitch on the tail blades for stopping it from going right. You must increase the travel and gain on the gyro.

The tail belt also needs to be tight enough not to slip.

    Cheers.

  • @cfreire31

You're welcome! Let us know how it goes. Let me

know of you run into any problems.

There may be a thread on helifreak for the tail shaft modification too. But it's pretty easy.

    Cheers!

  • Hi friend!

I have gyro futaba gy401 servo S9257 in clone trex450, and have the same problem in the video 0:14 second. With more throttle the tail move to the Right. Can you fix it? how I fix this problem?

    Can you help me please?

  • @cfreire31

After increasing the mechanical range, you have to readjust your servo so the slider is centered and the extremes just reach the sides, I would increase the range so that it pushes againt each side, that'll give you more auto-compensation, but may burn out your servo quicker, but that's up to you, only do it of you need more.

Also increase your gyro gain until it wags, then back it off a bit, that should be good.

  • @DavidSunshine867 Thank you for you help me and for your time. God bless you.

  • @DavidSunshine867 With a lot collective pitch the tail move for the right like the video in 0.14

Please, can you explain again in detail how fix it?

  • @cfreire31

    hey, sure.

The 401 only auto-compensates to a percentage of the full range of the tail pitch, so the full auto-compensation probably isn't enough.

To get more out of your tail, you can grind the ridge on your tail shaft further out, so the tail hub sits further out on the shaft. You can have the shaft filling the hub about 60% without a problem. I've done this for my trex 450 pro and it has helped the tail hold a lot better.

    Good luck.
