probing a worm out of cooked cod fillet from fresh direct.
I got the delivery come to my house on 24th of January at 10pm.
I cooked the fish on 28th around 11: 40am and ate it half way to find these worms.

now I read that it's 'common' but seeing a red coil embedded in white is very very scary.

++++++++++++++++++UPDATE!
hey guys so something new we learn today: cod and monkfish often have these worms from the sea and it's almost impossible to prevent it. even surfing through youtube it seems like it's common among cod fish especially. fresh direct emailed me apologizing, gave me a store credit for the fish and gave me a call and asked me if I was the one who uploaded the video today! aren't you quick.

  • I'm glad I cook all my fish

  • You should have thrown up in an envolope and mailed it to them.

  • just eat it!!

  • do it like bear grylls does! eat it! say a comment on how it tastes! then spit around and say u never do that again!

    and start over again XD

  • Your worm is cooked and safe to eat. Extra protein!

  • Shrivy sorry but cod fish, Haddock, hake, wolf fish, and pollock are the most common carriers of those particular parasites they are not in Rock bass or salmon.

  • @ShrivyShrivey

    I've been researching for a report and it seems like they aren't that uncommon. apparently they are more common in fish that live closer to shore as their target host is sea lions and marine mammals, so rockfish and salmon are more prevalent carriers.

    And well no one wants to eat parasites, they are in pretty much anything. that's why you cook things usually, its just worms you can actually see with the naked eye which is disturbing on some level.fortunately I don't eat fish .
