Summer Of Violence Buffalo New York 2008

10:50 p.m., July 11, 2008

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 17-year old boy is the Queen City's 22nd homicide victim of 2008, the fourth in just the last week. Meanwhile, a body discovered in an abandoned east side home is being called a suspicious death by police.

This mother of two who does not want to be identified, says her two kids were playing hide and seek with other neighborhood children when they came home with the disturbing news.

Buffalo Police have had a busy day. At 4:00 p.m., someone shot and killed a 17-year-old on Weber Avenue on the city's east side.

Det. Richards, Buffalo Police, said, "we're seeing a trend in which there's very young people taking out aggression by gunfire becoming a very disturbing trend."
