Worlds Largest UAV, RQ-4 Global Hawk being launched..

This is the worlds largest UAV, a RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle. Scenes include it being pulled into a hanger while at a non-disclosed base in Southwest Asia. The Northrop Grumman (formerly Ryan Aeronautical) RQ-4 Global Hawk is an Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) used by the United States Air Force and Navy as a surveillance aircraft. It can survey as much as 40,000 square miles (100,000 square kilometers) of terrain a day.

why is it so big? whats the purpose for the RQ-4? i know the reaper and preadator are scout and attack drones.

@MrIke112 It is used as a high-altitude platform for surveillance and security. Missions for the Global Hawk cover the spectrum of intelligence collection capability to support forces in worldwide peace, crisis, and wartime operations. According to the Air Force, the capabilities of the aircraft allow more precise targeting of weapons and better protection of forces through superior surveillance capabilities.
