I've always heard that Neurosis was a huge influence on Mastodon. Having listened to this, I can definitely see it it. Especially the stuff on Remission.

The apocalypse in 7 minutes and 37 seconds.

@jkolash- You are 100% right. I saw this back in...98?(when it was new) and that riff brought the fucking roof down. I was in the front row, and remember thinking "If I was holding a flower, it would INSTANTLY WILT". You could FEEL the sound cutting through and moving your organs around and shit. I've felt the "trauma" too, & I LOVED IT. I took an exgirlfriend to the show, and she was completely speechless afterwards, unable to process what she'd seen. My Youtube name says all

Cool song, esp. the part starting at around 4 mins, but I really love the the cover art. The way the picture here is all washed out and blurry actually makes it work even better.

this is incredible! thumbs-up.
I want more like buttons!!!
Oh yes, I can imagine myself floating above earth as humanity tears itself asunder then the clouds cover the carnage (the mellow bits of the song) and then when the main riff kicks back in the clouds disperse and I can see the hell below once once more hahaha. Neurosis are something special indeed.

The crunch of the main guitar lick on this song sounds like nothing I've ever heard before. Steve Albini (producer) is a master, and I bet he had a lot to do with it. I prefer the album "Through Silver and Blood" but this is my favorite Neurosis song. Makes me see the world in ruins. KNow what I mean? Anyone on the same page as me?
