Dems are hardly "pro-abortion". Some of them are barely pro-choice. Also, I don't agree that abortion is a sacrament to many people who identify as liberals. I've identified as liberal my entire life and had mixed feelings about abortion.

If one considers the wealth of support for Obama once.

Then to say waste of political initiative was huge, is an understatement.

At least Republicans seem to have a plan, however awful and damaging.

People are convinced more than ever that there is no REAL difference between Dems and Repubs. Obama had an awesome platform in his campaign, but seeing his stance on continuing the wars and continuing to throw money at the wealthiest 2% and backtracking on all his promises, including giving the American citizens a horrendously watered down healthcare plan and dismissing promises to gays, etc. No wonder so many have lost interest in belief that politicians will really give them any change.

I've experienced this on a micro level - as activists who speak to me saying - literally - they are staying home - BUT - that's not the answer kids - you have to go vote - you don't have to vote for the Blanche Lincoln's and Ben Nelson's of the world but you have to vote - its our only tool.
