P8000 - Ein DDR Computer von 1988 in Aktion

P 8000 ist ein Rechner, der Ende der 80-er Jahre im EAW Elektronik (DDR) gebaut wurde. Es gab Varianten mit 8-bit und welche mit zusätzlichem 16-bit Teil.
Hier zu sehen ist die 8-bit Variante mit 64 kB RAM und zwei 5 1/4 Zoll Diskettenlaufwerken. Die Ein- und Ausgabe erfolgt über Terminals.
Der Rechner wurde hauptsächlich für wissenschaftlich-technische Zwecke und zur Programmierung genutzt.
Im Video läd er das Betriebssystem OS/M 3.0 (ein CP/M Clone) und danach die Statistik Software ABSTAT. Über den 9-Nadel A3 Drucker Robotron K 6314 erfolgt der Ausdruck der Daten.

I have 30 old computers. My first vintage computers I found on junk markets, but in the last years I have bought them from ebay.

But now I have no more space, its enough :-)

1 nostalgia and a little astonishment about that what was possible with 8kB RAM

2 Yes, often quite a lot of work, e.g. for one computer I even needed 3 years to repair.

3 Mostly from not working computers of the same type

4 No problem, most printers realize this and stop

6 The big Robotron A5120 needs appr. 250 W, this is ok...

7 No problems, overheating is only today a CPU problem

8 oldest: CBM3032 from 1980, newest: Macintosh LC II from 1992

Genau, eines der Betriebssysteme, die damals auf dem P8000 laufen konnten, war ein Clone von CP/M. Sehr vereinfacht ausgedrückt war das der Vorläufer von MS-DOS, welches noch bis zum WINDOWS 98 Grundlage aller WINDOWS Versionen war. (WINDOWS war bis dahin kein eigentliches Betriebssystem, sondern nur eine Art grafische Benutzeroberfläche). Auf besser ausgebauten P8000 (16-bit Versionen) lief übrigens auch UNIX, welches der Vorläufer von LINUX war.

wie geil!!! Erinnere mich noch, wie meine Mutter damals von ihrem PC im Betrieb erzählte. Das war so ein Ding- aber der Einzige dort :-)
