This song makes me cry. If you just listen to it it's a cool song but listen to the lyrics (bellow) The song is about a girl named Cassie Bernall. Cassie was a kid in The Columbine High School Massacre. One of the gunman shot her because he asked her if she believed in God and she said yes. Then it talks about her funeral and It's so sad. It's my favorite song by flyleaf because it's true that people die for their beliefs and my favorite part is when she says "Don't be shocked that people die, be surprised your still alive. Because it's true. people do die for they're beliefs even now. And people think We have laws now about that. No one would kill me because i believe in something. That's not completely true. We live in a world where a lot of people need to be reminded about what love is. Some people just don't care. They don't care if they go to a nice roomy jail cell. And they don't believe in an afterlife so they're gonna live life the way they want to. If I was Cassie I would be proud of myself and all of the others who died for their beliefs. Cassie Bernall is my Hero.
The question asked in order to save her life or take it.
They answer 'no,' avoiding death and 'yes' would make it.
'Do you believe in God?' written on the bullet.
Say yes to pull the trigger and my sister, Cassie, pulled it.
They didn't love their lives so much, as to shrink from death.
Inspired in their footsteps, we will march ahead.
Don't be shocked that people die.
Be surprised you're still alive.
All heads are bowed in silent reverence.
The floor is wet with tears of sorrowful rememberance.
The alter's filled with hearts of repentance.
Perfect love kills all fear.
Rejoice in this deliverance!
They didn't love their lives so much, as to shrink from death.
Inspired by their footsteps, we will march ahead.
Don't be shocked that people die.
Be surprised you're still alive.
