See http://www.museumoftheweird.com for more about the paranormal and unexplained.

To some it is a strange hybrid of coyote and hairless dog, to others it is merely a coyote with a severe case of mange. And yet others believe we may be seeing an entirely new creature, and that we are witnessing evolution in progress.

Whatever the consensus is, enough of these creatures have made news in recent years that if one shows up, it is a safe bet that it will be referred to as a Texas Chupacabras (as opposed to the much more alien-looking Puerto Rican Chupacabras).

And now, yet another carcass of these mystery canids has turned up, again in Texas. What is it??? Mangy coyote? Hybrid wolf/dog/coyote? An entirely new species? Or maybe a Xoloitzcuintle? What do you think?

  • Looks like the dogs from Resident Evil

  • I live about 15 minutes away from where they found this thing! They ran a DNA test and determined it was a coyote with a massive case of mange!

  • It could be a runaway Chinese Crested that ran away from someone visiting Texas or had that breed of dog. But judging by it's teeth and it's position.. I'm guessing a Fox with bad case of Mange.
