Are you a minelab fan? I have a tesoro supertraq. Not much videos on you tube on this one. What do you think about the tesoro supertraq? Is this a good detector? I was thinking of getting a Eureka gold. Is the Eureke gold better in all categories? Could you help me in the pro's and cons of both and which is easier to use at a begineer level? Near two old mines I found old spikes and a lantern
Handle. Could this be a good place to fully go over. thanks Brad

I went prospecting in the bush with a metal detector last month. I found something really big! I was wandering around for a couple of days and not getting anything, found an old tin can. After another couple of days the siren went off real loud and told me something metal was under the ground. I dug away the dirt and guess what I found at the of the hole - a buried metal detector!

Hello GetMeThere, Yes, there were some old placer workings in the area. The old-timers in this area used drywashers and dry recovery methods to find gold since the water was very limited. These are great places for today metal detectorist to find missed or overlooked gold nugget(s).
Take care,
