But you can hook up a tachometer for the rpm.

Thanks for all your videos!! I have used a lot of your videos and learned a lot!! I have the same engine on my snow blower as in this video, and I basically used your videos to replace the fuel line, carburetor and put in a shut off valve after my snowblower failed to start. However it still won't start and I don't think I have compression because I did the thumb test and my thumb wasn't being pushed off the spark plug hole. Don't know what to do now.

Great info thanks! So why does the throttle linkage have so many different holes in it?
-
Thank you , I used your viedo to repair my linkage ....Perfect !!

Also now that I have it running like a champ how do I know it is running on the correct a/f mixture. It doesn't smoke and doesn't miss but how do I know if its running a little lean? I simply left the settings the new carb came with.

Hey man thank you so much for this video. My Simplicity 870 was not running so I put a brand new carb on and the thing would idle fine but I couldn't get it to increase engine speed. I thought I was screwed until I found this video and learned I simply connected the linkage from the governor arm into the wrong whole on the carb. I also learned what all of the screws do. Thanks a million!

Nice video, Thanx man!
Thanks for all the informative videos.
I've found it a good practice to snap a couple pics with a digital camera before I do disassembly. Even if it seems obvious at the time you take it apart, if some time passes before reassembly its easy to forget where things go.

@starakobieta if they are loose roller bearings use a hard grease to hold them on the crankshaft
