@reg074 Yes. You'll have to keep it a certain distance away from the ice.

Some comments got me confused, does this still work on 1.8?

@RageFever69 As I understand, for world generated in 1.8 there are no snow biomes, so you can't do it there.

But if you already have a world with snow and ice, I think it may work if you start on ice or use a piston to move an iceblock to be your starting point.
