Do you think Anna Chavez looks beautiful?

I used tolike the theme music... which was originally from the road tarring scene in the Paul Newman movie "Cool Hand Luke". It was edited, and used for most of the ABC affiliates as the Eyewitness News Theme. Since KPIX 5 was already called Eyewitness News in the S.F. Bay Area, KGO called there news, Chennel 7 News Scene.

@recto89 KGO used Cool Hand Luke cut all the way to 1994 but Cool Hand Luke in the 1990's was only used for Breaking news by then.

Kind of funny I dug this out. I've known Anna Chavez since the 4th grade, all the way through high school. (She loved reading newspaper reports in front of the class, all the way back when she was 11 years old). Who knew.

WTVD borrowed the KGO grpahics in 1991
-
I noticed in the 1986 and 1987 version of the KABC Opens the Cool Hand Luke theme seems to be more Dramatic. even though its the same cut as the 1989 KGO open and the 1987 WABC Open

Now that's interesting for two reasons. 1. Ernie Anderson (long time ABC spokesperson) narrated the Northern California's most popular newscast and 2. It was the orignial Frank Gari theme in 1989 compared in 1984 when it used the WABC version and KABC from 1991 so it went backwards. How come?

why did u guys complain about it?
-
It was composed by Lalo Schifrin, and it still available on C.D. on the "Cool Hand Luke" soundtrack.

Pete Giddings AND Joel Bartlett on weather? Damn, don't hurt us with that massive tagteam of terror!
This was summer of '89, so before the quake in October.

Yeah, Naturalists, but that is kinda odd. This open is a pretty cheapened version of KABC's open, with the giant 6:00 scrolling over. KABC just had Eyewitness News, in gold and white.
