Yes right I agreed with you all the way!  Sad to see that Gallaudet requires all employees to write d to label us, the medical thing not as human being Deaf !!!

Yes! We hope everyone will start using big D to describe all Deaf people (DOH, DOD, oralists, etc.). No reason to use small d to describe ourselves except to degrade ourselves.

We find it very disappointing that Gallaudet requires all employees to use small d when they write something. Not very progressive!

Cantareadio left comment to Avbria 2 yrs ago....about "D". She said "....I looked up the word 'proper noun,' it is defined as a noun that names a specific person place or thing. It is also used for groups and languages. AHA! So you are right!! I agree; let it be "Deaf" and not "deaf."....we never call someone "american" (small a) just because they aren't fully Americanized. We are either that way by birth, or we become that way...but we're still "American" with a capital A." How true!!

I am Deaf, Italian, Catholic, American, Latina etc. No need to use lowercase letters like deaf, italian, catholic, american, latina for what? to degrade myself? cos they dont make sense. Even they would put a zing against college paper terms if use them all in lowercase. True, been there before.
