@vamtire it has been three years since I have worked on the research paper (as you can see it involved more than just copy and paste information from the sources) so the stats might have changed and Japan is no longer considered the country with the lowest crime rate but it is still among countries with the lowest crime rate.

@vamtire there is more than one category of crime stats on nation master, all of these have to be taken into account. Now to my understanding Singapore is a city state of the Malay Penninsula so it was not listed (or rather its crime statistics were bundled with Malaysia correctively I'm not sure) therefore I can't confirm that Singapore indeed has the crime rate you claimed. Now taking all of these into consideration Japan would be placed on the lowest tier.

@vamtire the crime rate per country is proportional to the size of the population but there are outliers or exceptions that deviate from the distribution, for my research paper I had to adjust the statistics to get the real results. If you notice from the statistic chart Albania (last time I checked) or some country in the middle east or europe ranks the lowest but then adjusted for proportional inflation Albania is on par with France. Also you have to take into consideration other statistics

@vamtire I said "LOWEST"...I never said crime is completely absent in the country. I did a research paper on the country and my sources are BBC, CNN, Nation Master, ect. Honestly can you name one country that is completely devoid of crime? Your definition of "lowest" seems close to a utopian society which has yet to emerge
