In an interview,the cast said that the producers' decision was to stop the show while it was still on top and hasn't lost its edge,they didn't want it to go for 10 more seasons and be boring.

@franll2507 i agree. I don't get it why people want the series back or a movie. 10 seasons was enough, and in my mind, less could have been even a little better since it lost it's edge. They have moved on, people should too.

@MrDEA666 cause the main storyline is over which was Ross and Rachel together. They could do an after friends with their kids and stuff, but I doubt it could be successful. And to add, 10 seasons is probably enough for a series, or it could go downhill.
