now running on diesel ,rather than propane as b4,propane is still used as a pilot light during starting and will fit a quick release for this in future.fuel nozzle is 5gph but using 735psi fuel pressure rather than the intended designed 100 psi.a bit smoky at low boost running,as this is at a lot less than the designed fuel pressure for the nozzle.will need to fit a bigger nozzle to reach max rpm (52000) at approx 2 bar boost(p2)only got to 1.5~bar in testing.sorry about the poor camera work:-)dash needs to be finished etc.

  • have you managed to measure its thrust? what size is your wheel inducer and turbine exducer? great job

  • @flaps20check hi,the inducer is 91mm and the exducer is 121mm ,the new turbine i had fitted after the fod damage does not have the same geometry,so the thrust now is very low compared to the 20 kilo's i had b4. but the upside is that i can develop water injection to increase mass flow without any fear of surge :-) sorting my house out so not done anything except gather parts;-)

  • @flaps20check hi ,i agree !! but that's what i measured. i am using a old design of turbo ,and at the end of the day i am using something to do something that it was not intended to do :-) but long term there is plenty of scope to increase the thrust. the thrust measured was without the afterburner,which is a separate development in it's self. i have not yet run the go kart along the ground !!

  • @ror1n things have moved on a lot in regards hard wiring gauges !! just a bit heath Robinson b4 ,but a lot more elegant now !!

  • I think the haters need to remember that these engines are damn noisy so you can't sensibly run them at home. So it makes sense to take it away on the trailer and monitor the engine properly before driving it. Very tricky to watch exhaust gas temperatures, rpm and oil pressure on a moving kart!

  • I would invest in a guard for the intake if you want to keep your hair =D

  • i plan on making my own gas turbine engine but its just amasing knowing u have taken a turbo and fabricated this and made this by your own hands wether it can push the cart or not you still made an ENGINE that uses the physical principle laws of suck squeese bang and blow congrats man and know you and many others are inspiring younger generations who knows the next best engine maybe created in a garage by a 16yo cause of you

  • @g0fvt Yea, you get the pressure wrong, and you potentially go boom like Japan! And it's basically a freakin Jet Cart(with more ingenuity than a Hater can imagine), so they can keep hatin...You our biggest fans!
