@Pitt176 another weapon to consider is Kyoketsu-shoge, just Wikipedia it

Nice video, I would like to see some video about the destructive power of this weapon, just see it hiting something, would be cool.

its like a yo-yo :D.....only it doesn't cum bak :/

@Rahrhino sorta like when you throw a knife and it sticks, i got that feeling the first time, i still do when i practice lol

I made a rope dart from a multi-tool spanner (for a bicycle) and a length of nylon sailing rope... I make all of my own weapons but the rope dart is definitely one of my favourites. There's just something so satisfying when you can shoot it out nice and cleanly ^^

@Pitt176 you could also consider the meteor hammer :3

Formerly known as "fei biao", or flying cloth darts, in the Chinese weapons lexicon.
Good job, keep the art alive.

i was researching some japanese weapons for my manga and i found your clips. i think one of the characters i'm creating will use the rope dart. is it used in combat alot...? oh well i think its cool and if you dont mind i think i'll derive some of the fight moves in my manga from your moves.

Thx for the comment!
The rope dart is originally a chinese weapon, often refered to as a "hidden weapon" which was easily concealed and "shot out" at times of need.
Well, yes it's used in combat alot. It is a weapon after all. :)

Looks like a mix between the traditional rope dart form and something one would see in a Li Jin Heng video. Most people wouldnt pick that up but any serious rope darter can easily tell. My suggestion would be to learn both forms in there entirety, than make up your own thing. Once you do that, more things will open and your imagination will be your only barrier. You're pretty good though, its a hard weapon, cool music too.

Actually, almost all is from Li Jin Heng's form. :) Some moves taken from some other clips out there, like Zhong Qiyin etc.
Thanks for the feedback!
