A video from a 3 day motorcycle ride exploring South-Eastern Utah. I had set up camp in the Abajo Mountains above Monticello and needed to get the fire started. No matches or lighter or any newspaper. I used a cotton ball to hold the flint and catch the sparks, seemed to work well enough.

  • Nice job. Like your setup on the bike and also the tent. Thinking of doing an extended trip like this and just researching. Going to shamelessly steal the cottonball and med bottle from you cause it's such of a good idea! Thanks for sharing.

  • I would love to have seen your entire video but I died from hypothermia waiting for the fire.

  • Cool video. Im planning on taking a trip to Michigan on my KLR250.

  • lasal is a really cool mountain im going on my first deer hunt there i think

  • You don't need the magnesium on the cottonballs. Just the spark will light it but dampen the cotton with some type of oil or petrolium. It'll but a bit longer to catch your fire.

    Thanks for the video.

  • pretty cool. I was waiting for a spark from your fire to jump to the woodpile being so close. HA!! Awesome ride!

  • Coooool
