What an amazing individual John was. I was a freshman at LN when this tragedy happened. Three years ago i was helping the school clean out a locker room due to renovations and i found myself holding back tears when I went to dust the tops of the lockers in the girls locker room. There on the top of the lockers were messages to John Stewart. They (to my knowledge) still remain on the tops of those lockers facing the heavens always telling John we miss him.
I was a senior at Columbus North and went to watch this guy play. I remember him dunking, stumbling to the sidelines and collapsing. Remember it like it was yesterday. We were the same age and it will be one of the momements I'll never forget.
Today is the 10 year anniversary. Today, our teacher played the video announcements for us for the first time in awhile, telling us there was something we had to watch. It was really sad. I had never heard the whole story before.
Thank you for posting this...I was a sophomore at LN when this happened. I remember I was at work and couldn't go to the game, and one of my co-workers happen to be watching tv and broke the news to me. Truly he is missed.
This made me cry. RIP John Stewart.
