@davy91101 Yes, she certainly didn't sound as if she was having an easy time of it that day and she hasn't sung in a couple of subsequent performances due to illness. Hope it's just a cold and not something serious.

Urmana was a stunning mezzo and I can understand her desire to want to be a soprano but after a disastrous Aida at the Met a few days ago I hope that she can correct whatever is wrong and ontintue to give the pleasure that she id initially.

It is said that she is a wonderful personality, but this singing is unfinished, strident and entirely lacking any trace of nuance or musical sensitivity.
She just has a large voice: another Marton, Guleghina, or Zajick.
