How did a reporter by being a prisoner of the taliban become an official spokesman on taliban ideology and strategies? Was he taking talliban ideology and strategy courses while he was there??

A fantastic book he wrote called "Endgame", every citizen of a NATO (although it is more a UN failure than NATO) member country should read it...and then be appropriately embarrassed.
