Haha people are such tight asses about this whole situation... Don't act like you or a friend have made a "sloppy seconds" comment in your lifetime... He's a human and made a joke... People need a little sense of humor these days
He's a representative of the Dallas Stars (at the time) and the NHL. What he said was on the Canadian media, piped into every household. You're telling me that he made the NHL and Dallas look good by making a selfish comment like that? Maybe it's a good thing you don't have any official authority in the NHL, we'd be screwed.
... ok, let me spell it out to you. ANY professional athlete has a responsibility to the team that employs them to represent their team in the most diplomatic and professional way possible. Avery (and evidently you) seem to be oblivious to that fact.
Idiot's comments made his team look bad and obviously pissed his teammates off... didn't exactly paint the Stars in a very positive light, whether you "get it" or not.
thats not a fact and noone got pissed of at avery the stars just sucked and every blamed avery for it and why would his teamates care what he said about his "sloppy seconds"
