Trepča Football Club -- South Mitrovica

Rafet Prekazi
Football Coach
(Interviewed at Trepča Club Training Ground, S. Mitrovica in Serbian)

It was an honour to be from Mitrovica. Wherever they played -- that old generation, I came later -- people would come by car or bus to watch the game, just as people these days go to Manchester or to Germany. Wherever we played in Yugoslavia, people from Mitrovica were there, regardless of nationality -- "Trepčanac" is "Trepčanac". Like in Manchester -- you can be from Austria, but you love Manchester.

Ratomir Mušekić
Ex Footballer
(Interviewed in North Mitrovica in Serbian.)

In 1976-7 we had a good team and we made it to the premier league. The celebrations were unforgettable. Mitrovica celebrated, and the whole of Kosovo.

Rafet Prekazi -- Fantastic atmosphere. Until 1989, everything was great.

Rexhep Xhaka
Ex Footballer
(Interviewed at Trepča Club Training Ground South Mitrovica, in Serbian.)

I have a photo where I am the only Albanian with ten Serbs.

Ratomir Mušekić -- All the time I played football, we were very good friends. Not only with Xhaka, but generally. We didn't think about that, but now, these days... We are still friends, but he had to go to the south, and we stayed here in the north.

Milorad Andrić
Ex Football Coach
(Interviewed in North Mitrovica in Serbian.)

There is no contact, we don't meet each other.

Question: (Gerald Knaus): But he lives 100 meters from here?

Milorad Andrić -- 100 meters, but that's how it is. He would maybe come, but how would he go back? How would his people react? Maybe not his family and closest relatives.

Zvecan -- North Mitrovica

Milorad Andrić
(Interviewed at Zvečan Lead Smelter)

We are here at the intermediate stage of the lead smelter. We are here at the intermediate stage of the lead smelter. I come here at quarter to seven, make a tour, see what has to be done that day. That has always been the practice: at seven o'clock workers would start cleaning and prepare everything for the next run. Now, we still have to clean in the morning. But workers finish by ten and after that we just sit. I used to play sport, I was a coach, I had responsibilities. I don't have any of that now.
