第三十五回中部地区居合道大会優勝 2011年八月十四日
These are my winning kata at the 35th Annual Chubu Iaido Taikai (Central Japan Iaido Competition) held on August 14th, 2011.
Although I've been training hard and enjoying Iaido, I was quite surprised to win again. Three years in a row was already more than I could have hoped for, so to win again this year feels a little unreal.

Looking back at past video's and seeing what I thought was good form at the time, I'm sure I'll look back someday with a smile at this video too. While I'm still able to find things I need to work on, I'm pleased that they are becoming smaller, more technical points and I'm pleased with these five kata I performed.

There is a kind, older gentleman who also attends and perfoms at these competitions and although I haven't met him elsewhere, he always comes over and congratulates me. This time he said my form reminded him of that of my Sensei. That felt like as much of an accomplishment as any prize.
