LA County Sheriff: To get a CCW permit, "you have to be the victim of a violent crime". Is it me, but... isn't it getting a CCW permit AFTER you've been assaulted a bit late? WHAT KIND OF SENSE DOES THAT MAKE? And it absolutely BURNS ME up when elected officials whimsically decide who can and who can't carry. Is a retired judge's life worth more than mine or my children's? How dare they tell me that I can't defend myself or my family? NATIONAL CCW PERMIT: 1000% YES!

So you have to wait until you've been assaulted to get a CCW permit? That's absolute BS. That "assault" could have gotten you killed. It's common sense that if you're armed, you're less vulnerable and there's less of a chance that you'd be assaulted.

Soooo, if I live in L.A. I have to be a victim of violent crime BEFORE I can get a permit?! Sounds pretty stiff to me. Think I'll stay in Nor-Cal where we just do what makes sense. Get properly trained, apply, pass a background check, and safely and legally carry my Glock 30 everyday. YES, we need a national carry law to keep arrogant bums like Baca and Bratton form denying decent citizens the right to defend themselves!

Since when did criminals care about ccw and felony? Since some criminals already have felony, arent able to get jobs due to felony, arent they more of repeated offenders? Again, convicted felon will care? Arent these felons being fed by tax payers? Its a win win for felons.

wow! its easy for the criminals to get a firearm,you can not defend yourself with a stun gun when a criminal puts a gun to your head, robs you and then pull the trigger and then the gun jams,with that said my mother was able to run away for her life,if she was able to carry her firearm rightfully im sure this guy would be in jail,its sad to know this guy is possibly out in the world harming people,law enforcement agents ae down in our city Vallejo so we must protect our families by all means.
