Built for the "Stawag Solarfreaks" contest in Aachen, Germany.
The solar cell seeks after the brightest light source (in this case the sky) and rotates the Solar Cell in this direction.

The Model is powered by a battery in the video, because there was not enough sun on the day of recording, but it works also powered only by the solar cell!

  • specs and parts used would be nice to we can all try it

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 See the link in the Video-Description ;-) I think there is everything you'll need.

  • @Kaktus621 All I see is a basic design concept and project description......

  • @IdahoViewing Sorry, I've just relaunched my website thus not everything was available yet. I added the schematics and sourcecode for the microcontroller now. It is availble under the link in the video description!

  • Seemingly, very simple design with huge application potential. I like to tinker with solar projects. Did you find the schematics and/or circuit diagram for this project? I'd like a copy?

  • Hi! I'm really glad that so many people like my project.

I searched through my backup directories and YES I found some files related to the project here and there...

I have put them onto my server, so everyone can download it. See the Movie description for the url (youtube doesn't allow URLs in comments...)

The description.pdf is written in German language, sorry for that =)

  • if the shape of the collector parabolic contoured to match the the position of the sun.then the device could stay stationary as the sun could reflect equally through out the day/////fundamentally the sun is not flat there for the flat collector is not the most efficient

  • oh thanks didnt see that

  • Thanks! I hope to provide a video response with my build in the near future.
