Back Home - lyrics
I flew into Houston a storm was blowing through
Captain came on the radio and said - we're going to be... landing soon
we'll circle round and set her down by night fall
The sky was black as coal the city down below
seemed so lonely
and I don't know - why I am feeling so low
something's pulling me and I've got to be
heading back home
Standing in the desert the sun was beating down
staring up at the man made canyons - I heard the sound
of the sirens wail - the plastic smiles stretched for miles and then some
Where happiness is sold - their worshiping the gold
in a land of broken dreams
and I do know - is it's time for me to go
I've need to get out of this race time to leave this place
and head back home
like the prodigal son i was on the run
living only for myself when I came undone
and I hit the ground
I went so low and I don't even know how I got there
Its sad but it true, there's nothing left to do
when you've tried about everything
then to my surprise i saw my fathers eyes
his arms reached out to me and said its time to be
heading back home
...head back home...........
