i ve seen the play twice and own it, but my friend just told me a really depressing story and had to listen to it, i feel so bad for her..

All the female voices in this are spectacularly good; talent of that magnitude freaks me out! I guess that's why they're on Broadway, eh? I have always been fascinated by the life of the actor - wonder what it must be like to make your living on Broadway. I'm sure it's not very glamorous for most people; for every famous performer there are literally thousands of lesser famous people who spend their careers mostly not getting jobs and when they do, they get bit parts.

I don't know why, but I find this song to be hauntingly beautiful and so incredibly sad. The voice at the end is a bit distracting, but otherwise it's a real gem. I think a lot of the reason for that is because the INCREDIBLE Rebecca Naomi Jones is singing lead on it. She's absolutely spectacular - one of the most talented women alive. She's only inher 20s, I think, but she is absolutely a gift to musical theater. She is also in Passing Strange and she is brilliant there too.
