Eight brand new miles of 4-lane U.S. Route 35 in West Virginia

Taken on the anniversary of John Lennon's assassination, December 8, 2010. These eight new miles were not yet open in October when my ride and I last carpooled to this gig (the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra) together. Of the original 41 miles of 2 lane highway between just south of the Ohio River and I-64, only 14 miles of old road remain. The old U.S. 35 is being resigned as WV 817. These new 8 miles, combined with the southernmost 12 miles of four-lane which were opened about a year and a half ago, shave about 20-25 minutes off the old commute.

I use to drive that old section of 35 in a big truck I always worried about other people on that section I seen a lot of accidents on there
