This is a rare, old preformance of X Japan doing their song Week End. The audio in the first part of the song is kind of lacking but it's better on the second half. Enjoy.

  • Hey guys, When did you know about X and how big is X in your countries?

Which countries are you guys from? I'm just wondering, cos I'm Japanese and love & grew up with X since 1989. X became bigger and bigger so quickly in Japan at that time and now they are legend. X became known to the other

countries because of the film "SAW IV"?

  • Hi yogamakoto.

I'm from America and I've been an X/hide fan for about 7 years now. I know a lot of people who are not Japanese and have been fans for a while but that is because of the internet. However, they are not too famous here. I think many people have heard of their name but don't know their music. Anyway, I hope that Saw IV will help them gain more fans out side of Japan.

  • If thats Hide doing the backup, he has an amazing voice.

  • Actually it's both but mainly hide.

  • TAIJI is soooooooooo handsome.........

  • RIP TAIJI

  • @yogamakoto The song "IV" came as one of the free downloads if you bought Rockband 2 bandkit so I know that several people know about them from that. Personally I had been listening to them for a very long time before I realized they had stuff in "SAW IV". Most of my Jrock stuff has been discovered either via friends or internet.

  • @yogamakoto I learned about X from another obscure band where the lead singer sang at the hide memorial summit in 2004. The first two songs I heard were Endless Rain and Vanishing Love

  • ese solo de guitarra esta mucho mejor que el que tocan

  • the most match bassisst TAIJI !!

  • they started commercialism in 1989. Do you think that songs like Feels Damage, No Connexion, or break the Darkness would be accepted by the record company? ABSOLUTLEY NOT.

  • any person who finds heath better then Taiji, simply says so based on look and not on actual talent. its pretty much true. they suck at denying it.

  • @mrgrazzt

No insult intended for X fans. I love them...but really, some of their 'english' isn't great at all. I'm not complaining, after all I can't speak a word of Japanese.

  • @aloozer

Yeah thats true, because of singing in their native tongue.

I don't think the music genre so much is to blame on lack of international success. Definitely the japanese vocals and, let's face it, English that you can hardly even understand without a lyrics reference. And their visual style around this time. Problem is, they were about a decade too late with the whole 'glam' thing.

Loudness was snapped up in the US fast. That's because you can actually understand their English.
