Oshkosh 2010 EAA AirVenture celebrates the 75 Anniversary of the DC-3. Great collection of Warbirds and private aircraft from around the world. The Oshkosh Airport (Wittman Regional Airport) is the busiest airport in the world for week of the EAA airshow. July 26 - August 1, 2010

  • America flew hundreds of DC -3s to the UK during the war. The Americans furnished hundreds of DC -3s to the RAF, (which they called the Dakota). The planes were flown up the east coast of America to Canada, then to Greenland, to Iceland, then over to Scotland and down to England. (Many of the planes were ferried by women pilots (WAF) from the U.S to England. Hundreds of DC -3s participated in D-Day flying paratroops and pulling gliders with more troops.

  • Some C-47s went from Miami to Borinquen Field, PR to northern South America to Brazil to Africa.

  • would it be possable to fly a dc-3 from america to the uk?
