The PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG team stepped onto the podium, finishing in third place overall in the two-stage Leg 2 of the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012 from Cape Town, South Africa, to Abu Dhabi, UAE. PUMA's Mar Mostro crossed the line in the Abu Dhabi sprint to the finish in the fourth position on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 12:28.38 UTC.

Leg 2 was redrawn into two stages as the teams sailed from Cape Town to an undisclosed location to protect the fleet from pirate activity in the Indian Ocean. On December 26 teams arrived in a safe haven port and the boats were transported by heavy lift ship to a position off the Sharjah coastline in the northern Emirates. The second part of the leg was January 4's 98nm sprint to the finish line in Abu Dhabi. PUMA's Mar Mostro completed the sprint in 6 hours, 58 minutes and 38 seconds.
