Hahahahahaahah.
I was amused.
By this.
I also apologize for this unintelligent comment.
It is late.
I am deliriously catching up on these videos.

Let me also say, its very easy to criticize (like me); more difficult to create (like you). It was still a great vlog.
As Teddy Roosevelt wrote, "..the man who really counts in the world is the doer, not the mere critic—the man who actually does the work, even if roughly and imperfectly, not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done."

@missxrojas I believe that line of reasoning is what a logic professor might call a "non sequitur". The proposition "I consciously used those cliches" (which I do not believe) does not support the conclusion "because this was a wildlife documentary".

... (ctd.) ...
These are all heard, dead phrases - which should always and everywhere be avoided by writers. Your job is to spin a new phrase from (perhaps) familiar settings, not just to copy cliches.
Were you also "rummaging through your handbag"? Was it "bitter cold" outside? Was "that random"?
Haven't we all heard these "a million times before"?

Dear Rosianna,
I do love your vlogs and tweets; so it harms me that the first time I comment, I criticize - but I think this well be constructive and create a better writer of you in the long-term.
Martin Amis famously wrote that literature is "a war against cliches"; which is the crux of the problem with your video here. You were "struck" (1:02), then you noticed it was "man against machine" (1:52), you end suggesting we can "only hazard a guess" (2.14) ... (ctd.) ...
Please, if you have time, watch Martin Amis's interviews with Charlie Rose - ESPECIALLY this video, especially at 8:40 - 9.40. He makes my point.

All of Martin Amis's interviews with Charlie Rose increased my understanding, respect for, and appreciation of the craft of writing "ten - X".
He is also, quite possibly, my favorite living novelist.
Good luck, Rosianna. I look forward to reading YOUR novels in the future (one?) year(s)?
