@MrGETINTHEVANBITCH probably Graphic Storytelling and Visual Narrative... Scott McCloud's Making Comics, Understanding Comics, and Reinvinting Comics are also good choices if you're interested in the theory and structure of comics.

Eisner was a genius. Period.
Anyone who's got any worth will appreciate this man. It's a true, honest shame that this man, (with more raw talent in his little finger than any pop-idol schmuck) who revolutionized the industry with his efforts is largely ignored and taken for granted. Thought to be a remnant of the past...While untalented, fame-seeking, wannabe "artists" (in any field) will reap fame and reward for producing schlocky, trite, forgettable nonsense. This world is upside down.
