Greek riots, Strikes, Mass Revolt! - Socialist Party

Two years of struggles by workers and students in Greece - Andros Payiatsos, Xekinima (CWI www.socialistworld.net in Greece, www.xekinima.org) spoke at the Socialist Party's Socialism 2008 rally in November 2008 - giving the background of what was to come, and the socialist way forward.

Currently (December 2008) Xekinima, is campaigning for: * the development of a new wave of occupations in schools and universities, * a general strike called by the Greek TUC, before Xmas, * a united front of the forces of the left, in order to take the movement forward * for SYRIZA to call its own rallies in the course of next week, in all cities * for the building of committees of struggle (action committees) in all areas, as the struggle develops, comprising of all layers involved * the fall of the government, which is hanging by a thread of a one-MP majority, to be replaced by a left government reflecting the movement of the youth and the working class, based on a socialist programme.

When everyone is held accountable for treason... And when the people set up organizations on a regional bassis and build their communities wealth up. When people are free to do this, and have access to their own resources then the economy will flurish. When everything is held to the same scrutiny as science!
