Dambudzo Marechera was born in Vhengere Township, Rusape, Zimbabwe. He grew up amid racial discrimination, poverty, and violence. In his short career he published a book of stories, two novels, a book of plays, prose, and poetry, and a collection of poetry.
His first book, The House of Hunger, was awarded the 1979 Guardian fiction prize.
Good dramatisation. I hope they will make a great GENUINE film depicting his life. Product of Zimbabwe.
