kit fox are dumb?

We were hunting coyotes and a few minutes into our stand this guy came out of his den for a little sun. He was less than interested in all those sounds we were making. I got my camera out of my pocket and tried to steady it on my shooting sticks to catch this video clip. He stayed there until we got up to leave and then he dived back into his den. This kit fox was not injured.

I'm with you arieslibra13....it's not dumb, it's just dozing in they sun and noticed you when you drived away. Thats why it ran back into it's den.

Actually, I don't think they're dumb for not moving. Foxes are proven to be quite intelligent and good problem-solvers, often finding creative ways to trick and catch their prey. I think that it didn't move because swift foxes has just recently been introduced to Alberta and are not yet used to encountering humans.

the dumb thing was that the kit fox was not even moving while they were yelling like crazy at it.
