A tyrannical government, repression in the air and violence on the streets. The revolution may be over, but with the army filling the void left by Mubarak little has changed in Egypt.

"You know the army council is trying to kill the revolution",Bothaina Kamel, a presidential candidate, tells us. The army had promised elections in six months. Now it looks like they won't happen until at least 2013. "I never thought that we'd be oppressed in the exact same way." As forces brutally attack protesters and thousands of civilians continue to be court-martialled, the promise of the Arab Spring feels a long way away.

  • for stupid commenters,

the killed christians were attacked by the corrupted MILITARY and POLICE, not by "muslim extremists"

  • Good luck Egypt. If the Muslim Brotherhood take over, you must not delay in overthrowing them. A theocracy is the worst of ALL tyrannies because they claim that to oppose them is to oppose God/Allah and to speak against them is to blaspheme. It is the oldest con of them all.

  • @kumkum19 i think you need to concern about your own nation

    india have alot of problems

  • @WorstCommenter2008 Well, at least I am old enough to remember the wall didnt fall until 1989.. Greece has also been under dictator rule during 20th century. And their democracy was very different from ours. We wouldny recognize it today.

  • @fargonbastedge well Greek democracy was invented 2500 years ago and it last for only one century the gold century of Pericles about 480 BC-404 BC.

  • @annazt11 Nice of you to talk so nice about eastern Europe, considering Ancient Greece CREATED democracy.

  • @annazt11 Eastern Europe is not western... I was referring to anceint Greece (3000 BC) and ancient Rome (500 BC).

  • @Anatolian90 I´m worried. They have so much to win right now. And so much to loose.

  • @fargonbastedge Well, actually many people, nor a few, has that opinion. First of all, our western traditions, wich I am proud of, are not 5000 years old. I mean, its enough to go back about 200, 100 or only a few decades, when it comes to eastern Europe, we were not democracies. And the roots of our values actually go back to the middle east and for sure to Egypt!

  • @annazt11 I was one of those "small few" people who said the Egyptian revolution was going to go to shit. Dont forget, Egypt is full of Arabs and some people was expecting them to pull off a 5,000 year western tradition known as "democracy" lolololol. That would require the arabs to show responsibility, restraint and respect... Good luck lololol

The iron fist of islam is what keeps these nomads on a leash and thats how they like it... Egypt is doom because of the Egyptian people.
