Loch Tay is the subject of this watercolour painting demonstration. I limited my palette to just 3 colours: Raw Sienna, Ultramarine Blue and Paynes Grey. It's on 130lb watercolour paper and painted mainly with the large hake brush.

  • Nice one. Thanks.

  • @LeonaFraser1 cheers

  • Love your technique. I have ben painting with watercolors for about a year now, so still building confidence. and knowing when to stop tatting with it ( over kill ) you make it look so loose, need to work on this. By the way are you from the West Midlands??. Love the Locks . Do you always use 130 lbs,? I have used 300lb and it is really nice to paint on.

  • @vernonbc2003 thanks for the kind words Vernon. Yes I am from the West Midlands, Birmingham to be exact. To be honest I always use the 130lb paper because I get it in reams quite cheaply from artdiscount.co.uk. I've never used paper heavier than 140lb but can imagine 300lb must be quite tasty. Best of luck with your painting.

  • Steven - many thanks.

  • @morecambeman thanks for watching
