HAHAA..i m singaporean btw. this is so funny. they r definitely gettin e wrong picture here..

but just to clarify something, in school,a child will only get caned if he is really naughty til the point such that the act actually constitutes to a crime.n the caning can only be done by the school principal, no one else.

@060stone403 Mm, the exams affect the stream you get into. And the stream affects the subject combination that you can take. So if you want to go to a university, it's better for you to go to the junior college. Then, to do so, most of the time you have to take pure sci to enter really good JCs. The streaming at sec2, which is affected by your lower sec results and PSLE results then, indirectly affects the possibility of getting into a uni.
