I roast a turkey and make sausage stuffing. At some point I baste both the wall and myself. Go Team Thea!

You'll need:

12 pork sausages (I used Bacon & Cheddar, but any kind will do)
1 sweet bell pepper
3 stalks of celery
3 tbsp poultry seasoning
1/2 loaf of bread.
1 turkey (mine is about 12lbs or 5.2kg)
8 cups of water

Cooking temperature: 325F
Cooking time: 30 minutes/pound.

  • No fighting kids. I am sure there is a proud tradition of British turkey stuffing, and farming. We've just never heard of it, and apparently aren't stupid enough to pay $120 for a 10 pound turkey.

  • Set phasers to BASTE. I'm loving the gauze tip.

  • That stuffing loaf is a great idea!

I used to line the turkey cavity with gauze (the kind you use when straining jelly). When everything is done, you can pull all the stuffing out cleanly in its "gauze bag" ... and then simply throw away the gauze once you dump the stuffing into a bowl.

A suggestion: wear an apron and save your shirts. :-) I hope that came out.

  • You can never have too much stuffing. Except if you explode.
