Malcolm Elliott was close to his peak in 1989, having won the Tour of Spain Points Jersey earlier in the year. He was more than just a sprinter as this performance shows. How many Grand Tour Points Jerseys could Malcolm have challenged for if he had the lead out teams enjoyed by the likes of Van Poppel, Cipollini & Cavendish ?
