From her 1985 album Hounds of Love

Lyrics:

Little light shining,
Little light will guide them to me.
My face is all lit up,
My face is all lit up.
If they find me racing white horses,
They'll not take me for a buoy.

Let me be weak,
Let me sleep
And dream of sheep.

"Attention shipping information in sea areas...Bell Rock, Tiree,
Cromaty, gale east...Malin, Sellafield..."

"Come here with me now."

Oh, I'll wake up
To any sound of engines,
Ev'ry gull a seeking craft.
I can't keep my eyes open--
Wish I had my radio.

I tune in to some friendly voices
Talking 'bout stupid things.
I can't be left to my imagination.

Let me be weak,
Let me sleep
And dream of sheep.

Ooh, their breath is warm
And they smell like sleep,
And they say they take me home.
Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper.

  • Best Album of the 80's by far- its a masterpiece.... way ahead of her time.... Thanks Dave Gilmore for giving her a helping hand at the beginning!!

  • Absolute masterpiece. It doesn't belong to the 80's.....those years were just the veichle. This music belongs to eternity.

  • Truly an ethereal song, gentle beyond description. Beautiful beyond words, they take me deeper and deeper...

  • absolute perfection Kate. Melts my heart somehow

  • Beautiful,

  • @loosehead67 Why do you keep posting the same comment on every video?

  • @robsam68 You'd love her rendition of sleeping with a snowman on her latest album''50 words for snow'' then. On being questioned on BBC radio if she meant this metaphorically she replied:'' No John, its a real snowman.'' The intercourse of the snowman was ofcourse followed by her waking up next to nothing bar a wet patch. The irony.

  • Just too beautiful ....

  • strange how this album fits in any era, you can see it in the 80's, you can see it being a masterpiece of 90's alternative music, you can see it now sitting above the Florence + The Machines, the Claire Maguires (think i spelt that wrong) and so on.....

Only few can and have done this, shes an artist for all generations and i hope she carrys on with her music...

  • @loosehead67 Scritti Polittis "Cupid and 85" was also quite superb. The UK was churning out all kinds of great music during the 80's!

  • Poignant and touching.......Ms. Bush was quite talented! Unfortunately, living in America, you hardly ever hear anything about her.
